Project Description

BREMEN, GERMANY
STUDIO APARTMENT
This studio apartment was to be created by splitting a 3 bedroom apartment into a studio and an adjacent 2 bedroom apartment.
The somewhat old-fashioned parquet floor in the living area was stained dark and offset with pale grey walls, to give a contrast to the sleeping platform, which was carpeted in a pale grey carpet, giving the flat a sleek modern look and feel.
By raising the floor level and using a different floor covering, a clear separation from the living area is achieved. Ample sockets integrated into the bedroom platform enable suitable outlets for TV, telephone, and other electrical items.
An open shelf unit was planned for the incoming tenant, to divide the living and sleeping areas further, and to be accessible from both the living room and bedroom areas. That gives the option to include decorative items and a rotating TV that can provide viewing from both living and bedroom areas.
The studio flat was provided with a smart, fully functional kitchen with fully integrated appliances and a breakfast area, where a narrow breakfast bar now divides the kitchen from the studio living and bedroom room. One of the tall units is being used as a cloakroom wardrobe.
The small bathroom was given an integrated bathtub with a large mirrored wall and the floor to ceiling tiling in natural stone creates a feeling of luxury.
